About this event
Rockin’ Palos Verdes Drive Tour
Join us on August 10 for a drive tour through the beautiful Palos Verdes peninsula!
We’ll start at the Korean Bell of Friendship in San Pedro, a fascinating, 17-ton bronze bell that was a gift to the U.S. from the Republic of Korea during our bicentennial. It’s surrounded by beautiful ocean views in a pagoda-like structure on the south end of Angel’s Gate Park.
From there, we’ll head west to Palos Verdes, taking interesting roads with great vistas of the ocean as well as the L.A. basin. (Note: We will be avoiding the very rough and unpredictable sections of Palos Verdes Drive South where all the land movement is still taking place.) Our route is easy to follow, but the roads we’ll be taking can be curvy and hilly, so plan to bring a capable car.
We’ll stop at the historic Point Vicente lighthouse, which was built in 1926. It’s open to the public only one day a month which just happens to coincide with our drive tour. The views are stunning and visiting the lighthouse is free.
Leaving the lighthouse, we’ll proceed along Palos Verdes Drive West to the Rock and Brews restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway for lunch. It’s a rock and roll themed restaurant with ample parking, a varied menu, and they’re happy to offer individual checks.
If you plan to join us, please click the Register Now button so we can make sure the restaurant will be ready for us. This is going to be a fun drive tour with your Great Autos friends. Don’t miss it!
